About Me
Laure Kyle, MS, Licensed Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist (NY)
I am a psychoanalytic psychotherapist licensed in the State of New York and in private practice. As a lifelong student of meaning and mystery, I come to this work with a deep reverence for the inner life. My therapeutic approach has been shaped by more than a decade of immersion in depth psychology, the sacred feminine, and my own embodied journey through motherhood, grief, and personal transformation.
I conceive of therapy as a modern rite of passage—a space where we are invited to shed old skins, meet the deeper truths within ourselves, and emerge renewed. This perspective guides the way I hold sessions: with presence, curiosity, and a belief in the profound intelligence of the psyche.
My academic background includes a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from the City University of New York and a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature from the University of Minnesota. I completed postgraduate Jungian training at the Chiron Institute in Minneapolis, grounding my work in both clinical rigor and the symbolic, imaginal traditions of Jungian thought.
Born and raised in Ireland, I now live in New York with my husband and two sons—continually inspired by the intersections of culture, story, and inner life that shape who we are and who we are becoming.
WHAT MAKES JUNGIAN THERAPY DIFFERENT
Jungian therapy goes beyond symptom management. It helps you explore the unconscious patterns, symbols, and inner narratives shaping your life.
This approach focuses on:
Understanding the deeper roots of emotional struggles
Integrating shadow aspects of the self
Exploring dreams, symbolism, creativity, and intuition
Reclaiming meaning, purpose, and wholeness
Developing a stronger, more grounded sense of identity
Instead of surface-level coping tools, Jungian therapy offers a path to profound insight and lasting transformation.
BENEFITS OF JUNGIAN THERAPY
Clients who engage in Jungian therapy often report:
Greater clarity about who they are and what they want
Reduced anxiety, emotional conflict, and inner tension
Healthier relationships and boundaries
A deeper sense of purpose
More confidence and self-trust
Ability to navigate life transitions with greater resilience
This is a process that helps you reconnect with your most authentic self.
My approach
In one on one psychotherapy, I work intuitively to support a deepening of trust as we traverse the inner landscape of your psyche. There is space for your unfolding, honoring the slow, sacred process of remembering who you are beneath the roles and beliefs that you've depended upon to stay safe. This isn't about simply shifting your mindset, but a deeper kind of healing—one that honours your voice, your body, your unconscious wisdom, and the parts of you that have been silenced, hidden or exiled, and in turn creating loving conditions for these parts to return and be felt and expressed.
In our sessions, we will move gently and intentionally, attuning to both what’s painful and what’s emerging. We may explore dreams, relational patterns, and the stories held in your nervous system. We may also draw on archetypes, myths, and symbols that mirror your inner journey. In doing so we'll explore the deeper patterns that have shaped you—not to pathologize, but to understand, to grieve, and to transform.
My work is rooted in:
Post-Jungian & Relational Psychoanalytic Theory – honoring the unconscious, your relational history, and the symbolic life of dreams, fantasies and archetypes.
Feminine Psychology & Depth Work – exploring the unique inner life of women, especially in times of transition, wounding, or awakening.
Contemplative and Somatic Practices – helping you feel safe in your body, reconnect with your intuition, and ground healing in the here-and-now.
Issues I specialize in supporting women through:
Codependency and people-pleasing
Perfectionism and burnout
Motherhood and identity shifts (matrescence)
Relational and developmental trauma
Recovery from addiction or compulsive coping
Religious or spiritual abuse
Grief, loss, and life transitions
The search for meaning and self

$225I typically encourage weekly sessions for the initial phase of therapy to build a sense of trust and to deepen the momentum of our work together through consistency. If this is unrealistic for you let me know and we can discuss what will best serve you.
Different rates may apply should we decide upon longer sessions or less frequent sessions such as bi weekly or monthly.
I reserve a limited number of reduced- fee slots which are available based on circumstances and availability in my practice. Please inquire to see if you may be eligible.

I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. However, if you live in New York State I can provide a monthly “superbill” that you may submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits.
Please verify your benefits by asking:
Does my plan cover out-of-network mental health or behavioral health services?
What is my deductible, and has it been met?
What is the reimbursement rate for each session?
Please note, insurers typically require a mental health diagnosis to reimburse for services which I can provide.
-
I ask for 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged the full session fee, except in cases of emergency.
-
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and explore what is bringing you in, what you're longing for and any questions you have about therapy. We will begin drafting a sketch of your history and biography that we will continue to fill in over the following sessions.

This depends on your individual desires and needs. Some people come wishing to have support through a specific life transition while others desire deeper, ongoing work to unravel trauma and heal attachment wounds through relational work.
Ultimately, it is your role to decide when therapy feels complete. I believe that the individuation process (becoming more fully oneself) is a lifelong process. I invite you to have this conversation with me as time goes on and to explore together when you’re feeling ready to move on.
